Captain Andrew Scott Jr. (1798-1888) was a ship’s captain from Portland, Maine, who resided in Flushing, New York in 1850. He was a seafarer and trader who traveled widely and made watercolor sketches, a practice continued by his daughter Catherine (Kate). They signed nine of these watercolors and probably painted them all.
Maggs Brothers Ltd has a royal warrant from King Charles III which they have posted on their website. From what I know of King Charles, I think he must have a good time looking through their new offerings. I found out about them at the antiquarian book fair here last fall.
