Biedermeier mantel clock, with a square case with a concave top surmounted by turned white marble and a scrolling gilt bronze finial, supported by a semi circular support studded with roundels and pierced decoration on a rectangular plinth base with four marble bun feet. Still lifes by Austrian artist Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller. Living from 1793 to 1865, he was one of the most important Austrian painters of the Biedermeier period. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and taught there too.
