CHARLES DOWNING PLUM. This is the most beautiful plum we ever saw, the only plum that resembles a cranberry in color; very productive, of large size and fine quality. Ripens with the Wild Goose. SNYDER blackberries. Exceptionally productive; very hardy; medium size; no hard, sour core. Not more than half as many thorns as Lawton and Kittatinny. Fine flavor. Grows short and straight. Ancient temples tricked out in full living color as they were when people worshiped in them. Chromolithographic plates from Jakob Ignaz Hittorff’s “Restitution du temple d’Empédocle à Sélinonte,” which was published in Paris in 1851. A Prussian architect, he cut his artistic teeth drafting for Charles Percier.
