Leftovers from the time when having an artist do a watercolor of every room in your home was the ultimate status symbol. This set being of the mansion of Baron A. Stieglitz in Saint Petersburg. 1870. Luigi Premazzi, watercolorist to the tsar (1814-1891).

Must have been taking a break from painting all those rooms in the Winter Palace. Sets of those watercolors coming, and lots of them. Just found more, mostly from Romanov palaces but some being of the drawing rooms of their friends.
