Central America just a little while back with a fantastical spin that’s fun to look at. French. Jean-Frédéric Maximilien de Waldeck (Max de Waldek), artist. Living from around 1766 to 1875, he was also an antiquarian and cartographer. Exploring the Yucatan in the 1830’s, he came back and published a book with plates depicting what he found.
