Chromolithographs of orchids, plates from various works in the series “Lindenia”, published by Belgian horticulturalist and explorer Jean Linden who was the scientific director of the Royal Society of Zoology and Horticulture in Brussels. He also traveled to Central America and saw orchids growing wild. From the same lot and folio, these are all up for bid at Sotheby’s.
