Costume sketches from back in time by Alfred Albert, lead designer at the l’Opéra de Paris from 1856 to 1876. Granted sitting in the imperial box with Empress Eugénie would be better but what can one do.

Sketches for ballerinas from a bit back by Alfred Albert, lead designer for two decades at the l’Opéra de Paris (1856-1876). Costuming them all up he left the drawings for us to see. Not as good as a seat in the first box but it will have to do.
