Watercolors of Russian interiors from long before the revolution had been thought of let alone come. Mid 19th century. Luigi Premazzi, artist (1814-1891). Italian but he mostly painted in Saint Petersburg, keeping busy doing watercolors of rooms in the tsar’s palaces.

Must have been taking a break from painting all those rooms in the Winter Palace. Sets of those watercolors coming, and lots of them. Just found more, mostly from Romanov palaces but some being of the drawing rooms of their friends.

Watercolors in eternal sunlight of the tsar’s Russia from somewhere in the mid nineteenth century. Luigi Premazzi, artist. Living from 1814 to 1891 he grew up in Italy and died in Constantinople but worked in Russia.
