Life in India under a early 19th century sun. Imagery from “Oriental Field Sports: Being a Complete, Detailed, and Accurate Description of the Wild Sports of the East.” Published in 1807-1819 in London, the manuscript and designs are by Thomas Williamson. The drawings are by Samuel Howitt who illustrated other field sports books which in 1807 meant hunting. There are lots of hunting pictures in this one which I have skipped over.
