Pretty places that never were with imaginings up by Italian artist Gaetano Landi. Born in Italy he published “Architectural Decorations: A Periodical Work of Original Designs Invented from the Egyptian, the Greek, the Roman, the Etruscan, the Attic, the Gothic &c for Exterior and Interior Decoration” in 1810 from which these plates are taken.
