Still lifes of sea creatures realistic enough that you can almost sniff the briny air by French artist Anne Vallayer-Coster (1744-1818). Member of the Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture at the youthful age of 26 and a favorite artist of Queen Marie Antoinette.
