Nearly forgotten but glorious art, envisionings and historical oddments from the back corners of the internet
Angels wandering around and having fun but not in trouble yet. French. François Édouard Cibot, historical and landscape painter. Living from 1799 to 1877, he was born in Paris. Painted a lot of sacred art.
On a voyage to see how much mileage I can get from the creative ability and eye for images that my family thought was useless. On line art curator, fiction writer and now blogger. Historian's daughter. Follow me . . .even I have no idea where I'm going next.

Your first picture is titled ‘Fallen Angels’ and can be found in the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha. Certainly not ‘wandering around… but not in trouble yet’. The dark mood and entwining serpents would suggest that trouble is well and truly in the rear view mirror.
Thank you! I fixed the description, as much as the software will allow as something posted that far back it won’t let you edit much which is why the link to it at the Joslyn does not appear. Sarah B. Guest Perry.
