English men and women out and about and one hopes having a bit of fun, many of them acting in plays. Thomas Stothard, artist. Living from 1755 to 1834, he started out as an apprentice learning to draft designs for brocaded silks. Studied at the Royal Academy. Also did illustrations and designed tickets for concerts. His son Robert was a painter too.
