Watercolors of the frescoes of the  Villa Peretti Montalto, which was the home of Cardinal Montalto Felice Peretti (b. 1521) who became Pope Sixtus V in 1585. Designed by famed Roman architect Domenico Fontana the villa was destroyed in the 1880s. From a current sales catalogue from Michael Laird Rare Books and Manuscripts.
