Pair of silver marine themed sauce tureens and covers raised on four dolphin-head and shell feet headed by foliage. The bombe bodies chased with lobsters, swans, swimming putti, spouting whales and shellwork, engraved with a martlet crest, elaborate cast coral handles rising from seaweed, flowers and shells. Domed covers chased with matching border enclosing dolphins and lizards and artichoke finals with spreading leaves. 1810. 18th century Rococo in style. Made in London by William Pitts.
