High school graduates danced till they dropped at the Hollywood Palladium on June 18, 1954.
An estimated 1,100 local teenagers packed the Sunset Boulevard venue to celebrate their milestone with an all-night party from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The event was part of a nationwide effort to reduce traffic fatalities on graduation night by keeping young people off the streets (and under adult supervision).
The text and most of the pictures are taken from one post on Instagram by @beforethe101 which is where I found most of these images.
On a voyage to see how much mileage I can get from the creative ability and eye for images that my family thought was useless. On line art curator, fiction writer and now blogger. Historian's daughter. Follow me . . .even I have no idea where I'm going next.
