smiling on air on the bright red mittens of a little girl on ice skates as on the edge of the great park a hiss and then a hoot . . . a serpent slithering from tree to tree shapeshifting into an owl in plumage that looks more like a Mardi Gras float in magenta and hot pink than your standard old woodsy colors. . . another hiss and then no more . . . the owl getting bigger and bigger with a nest appearing filled with owlets in fuschia . . . something different . . . a new order and a new world . . . but get ready! the owlets’ talons are gleaming in razor sharp red and they are heading your way . . .
