smirking on air on the last spray of water before the tired fountain gets to sleep for the night as somewhere in Switzerland the basket of yarn by the knitting lady’s woodstove starts to wiggle . . . something inside the balls of yarn perhaps . . . or maybe goblins jammed inside her knitting needles . . . oh no . . . a fuschia something like the flicker of a serpent’s tongue and then a neon orange one that looks more like the tail of a dinosaur in the natural science museum . . . who knows what it is . . . . stay if you dare . . . pent up too long whatever they are and shooting up sparkly bits like a geyser in bright purple that are coming down and heading out . . . not looking like they want company . . .run!
