whistling on air as in the old house in the western mountains the maiden slips into the tub and sits down for a long soak . . . time for a nap and then awake . . . oh no . . . one of those button spiders but mutant it must be . . .. legs six inches long and crawling out of the sconce on the wall . . . enough time to get out but falling back in . . . a fright . . . even more, so many the bathmat is turning black and no one to hear . . .
