scintillating on air on the last note of a trumpet fanfare as up in the upper reaches of the great hall the children who go to the school down the street peek over the stonework . . . a hidden balcony to the grownups but not hidden if you can fit through the door and manage to run up 50 steps . . . the mayor boring and the politicians speeches too long but after . . . the strings of the balloons in the great pink archway cut and floating up . . .catch a few of them and you can fly as long as you can hold on or at least until a teacher gets you . . . better than going to school for sure. . . make yourself a holiday, why wait for someone to give you one.
