whispering on air on the bubbles in the bottom of a champagne flute as inside a photographer’s studio on the fashionable side of town the silver nymphs on the handles of the soup spoons smile at their auntie from her perch inside the tureen . . . someone else coming to be photographed later and having to lie still but maybe . . . sometimes the terrace set up used instead . . . no way to know now with the two legged ones having gone to get lunch . . . but maybe . . . a rest and that needed . . . fun with the pottery people who live on the plates one studio over . . . a dance . . . a smile . . . . and not being dunked in that repulsive cream of potato soup that they keep putting out at least until Monday . . .
