sparkling on air as the tip of the green ribbon in the aurora borealis fades as far away in a frozen sea a ghostly ship from a long-ago time sets sail . . . a wraith at the wheel, one for a lookout and more to man the dories . . . the ice melted through and closing up behind . . . where next . . . the seals asleep and the polar bears too . . . prey in human form this time . . . not whales
