Nearly forgotten but glorious art, envisionings and historical oddments from the back corners of the internet
Flower pictures from The Florist’s Journal for the Year 1842, Volume 3. Not finding much more more but each volume has the 1886 bookplate of Sir Lionel Walter Rothschild so must have been in his library. Sir Lionel, 2nd Baron Rothschild, Baron de Rothschild, was a British banker, politician, zoologist, and soldier. He was a member of the Rothschild family.
