Día de los Muertos, a last post for Very Eerie Pre Halloween Art 2025.

On a day also known as All Souls Day. It is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd in Mexico, where one of my sons-in-law has family, and where my maternal grandfather and third (step) grandmother, Bob and Kit Washburn, spent much time in their later years. I’m no authority and know more about Samhain, but it is quite possible that Día de los Muertos combines elements of All Souls/All Hallows Day and genuine indigenous pre-Hispanic roots dating back to before the conquistadors arrived.

my last post in this series posted to my Substack at the link if you’d like to see. Has a few more images than last year. https://sarahbguestperry.substack.com/p/dia-de-los-muertos-a-last-post-for-093
