Imagery from “Psalms Of David Owen Jones,”an illuminated book of the Psalms by Owen Jones. Done to look medieval but from 1861. Owen Jones was one of the great creatives of the 19th century. An architect and an artist, his best known work is probably”The Grammar of Ornament” which I have crafted posts around elsewhere on this blog.

Taken from an 1860s Book of Common Prayer so I haven’t transcribed everything as back then half of it was in Latin. The Books of Common Prayer I have inherited and was given when my babies were christened are far more recent so the language is not the same as it has been modernized along the way.
