Plates signed by Agostino Tensini from the calligraphy manual “La uera regola dello scriuere : utile à giouani.” Published in 1680 and then around 1800. This copy having been signed by Giacomo Formento and dated 1789, it would appear to be the 1680 edition.

Renaissance calligraphy and botany all in one place from the illuminated manuscript “Mira calligraphae monumenta”. Calligraphy done in 1561 and 1562 by Georg Bocksay, secretary to the Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand I. Flora and fauna added thirty years later by Joris Hoefnagel at the request of Ferdinand’s grandson Rudolph II.
