Arts and Crafts era silver by Omar Ramsden who was born in Sheffield but worked in London. He was one of England’s leading designers and makers of silverware and collaborated with Alwyn Carr.

Shaped oblong form centerpiece suggestive of a boat with central projections featuring the arms of Baron Hyndley of Meads, Sussex. The body of the centerpiece features applied insignia for a Knight Bachelor, a Baronet, a knighthood of the Order of the Crown of Italy and the 1935 jubilee medal for George V. At each end of the centerpiece is a mermaid on rope support. The bowl has a removable flower grille, allowing for its use as a rose bowl. 1934-1935. Arts and Crafts. English, made in London. Solid silver cup and cover. Lidded cup featuring an ornate graduated column with a shield shaped monogram above a wreath applied to the one side with the cup having a domed fitted lid with a curved finial. the exterior of the cup and lid are both embellished with a hammered finish and the interior of the cup and lid are both gilded. 1923.
