Derby Imari pattern partners porcelain inkwell and quill pen stand with the pen and inkwell standing on a narrow round pedestal domed foot with a narrow base and wide pear-shaped body with raised handles on each side. The top of the body has four pen holes with a central removable inkwell with a wide trumpet shaped rim. The body is painted in red and blue on a white ground with typical Imari patterning and is richly embellished with gilding. The inkwell and pen holder is not marked. Early 19th c.
