Nearly forgotten but glorious art, envisionings and historical oddments from the back corners of the internet
Engravings from Agostino Tensini’s “Le meraviglie della penna conchiudenti in diversi modi di scrivere delineati, et intagliati.” Published in 1641, it is an extremely rare first edition of a Baroque Italian calligraphy manual. All of these taken from the website of the antiquarian bookseller Martayan Lan some of whose wares I saw at an antiquarian book fair recently though, alas, not these.
On a voyage to see how much mileage I can get from the creative ability and eye for images that my family thought was useless. On line art curator, fiction writer and now blogger. Historian's daughter. Follow me . . .even I have no idea where I'm going next.
